LABOUR LAW: Former President of the Venezuelan Supreme Court, Dr. Rafael Alfonso Guzmán, in his book “Nueva Didáctica del Derecho Venezolano” wrote about the essence of labour law as follows: “Universities in Venezuela insist probably too much on the sentimental aspect of the labour laws rather than to form professionals in the legal area to live up to international standards”. CORPORATE MATTERS: Long time professor Roberto Goldschmidt, author of the new Commercial Code, in his book “Noción del Derecho Mercantil” wrote about corporations the following: “The mere concept of enterprise deserves various interpretations and is not stable throughout time and space. It supposes organized labor and, more than that, management of human resources for a common goal. In the light of professor Goldschmidt’s teachings we at this law firm form, transform and dissolve mercantile corporations in Venezuela and advise on possible fiscal effects that each step may encounter.

HOBBIES: We work for more than 44 hours a week, that is the maximum established by law. In our free time, we attend to arbitration matters, now possible since 1998 by virtue of a Law on Commercial Arbitration we helped to write together with members of the then Venezuelan Congress.
